Rigsby started playing boys hockey when she was just six, including AAA boys hockey from the age of 10.
She played for the Chicago Mission AAA Boys Bantam Majors as a freshman in high school. Moreover, Rigsby also played varsity girls lacrosse for Arrowhead Head School, in which she won two state titles in 2007 and 2008
She became the first woman ever to be drafted in the United States Hockey League, when she was selected in the 16th round, 199th overall by the Chicago Steel.
From 2006 to 2009, she participated in USA Hockey National Development Camps. In 2009, she played IIHF Under 18 Women’s Championship and won a gold medal.
