Blu started his career at the age of 19 with the local shows at a nightclub and restaurants. At that time, he was associated with the rap groups including Ill Flava Crew, Infinite Legacy crew, The Untouchable Mob, Glory For The People, The LA Metro Crew, and the Bridgetown Steel Crew.
He released his solo album, California Soul in 2003.
In 2005, he met the rappers such as Aloe Blacc and DJ Exile. Later, he worked with DJ Exile for the album, Dirty School.
After the Album, he signed with the recording label, Sound In Color being impressed by his work on the album. Under, the same recording label, he released his debut duo studio album, Below the Heavens with DJ Exile.
