He was born on September 19, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Canadian mother Whitney Triplett, a registered nurse and a Jamaican father Steve Clarke.
When he was young, his parents separated and his mother went on to marry Bryan Triplett, who is very much proud of his step-son.
Later, he moved to the United States at the age of 3 and settled in Phoenix, Arizona.
He joined Desert Vista High School and then attended San Jose State University from 2015 to 2017 before transferring to Gonzaga University where he studied from 2018 to 2019.
Professional Career
Initially, he played college basketball for San Jose State Spartans for a total of two seasons. His stats on freshman year was 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds. As a sophomore, Clarke averaged 17.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 2.3 assists and then transferred to Gonzaga after a season.
At Gonzaga, Clarke was red-shirted in the 2017-2018 season and his stats for the 2018-2019 season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs are 98 GP, 69 GS, 27.8 MPG, 0.639 FG%, 0.250 3P%, etc.
Moreover, he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft with the 21st overall pick. In addition, it was announced on July 7, 2019, that he had been officially transferred to the Memphis Grizzlies.
