Jeremy Kyle is an English TV host, journalist, and writer. He is very well-known for having hosted the tabloid talk show, ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ from 2005 to 2019. Kyle has won the TV Quick Awards for ‘Best Daytime Show’.

Jeremy Kyle was born on 7th July 1965 in Reading, Berkshire, England to parents Patrick Kyle(father) and Nan Kyle(mother). As of 2019, his age is 54. His father used to be an accountant and personal secretary to the Queen Mother for around forty years.

He also has an older brother named Nick who, according to Jeremy, later became a drug addict. His nationality is English while his ethnicity is Scottish.

Jeremy Kyle: Early Life, Radio Career

Kyle’s first job was at ‘Marks & Spencer’ which is a major British multinational retailer with headquarters in Westminster, London.

From 1986 to 1995, Jeremy used to work as a life insurance salesman, recruitment, consultant, and radio advertising salesman. He became a radio presenter after working at Orchard FM in Taunton, Somerset.

In 1997, he became a part of BRMB in Birmingham and presented ‘Late & Live’ and ‘Jezza’s Jukebox’. In 2000, he started working on the Century FM network. On 1st July 2002, he got the opportunity for his first broadcast on Virgin Radio and presented ‘Jezza’s Virgin Confessions’.

The Jeremy Kyle Show

Starting from 5th September 2004, he started presenting the ‘Confessions’ on Capital FM. After that, he started his show for ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show‘ which ran from January of 2006 to December of the same year.

On 21st September 2008, he began presenting a lunchtime sports show every Sunday titled ‘The Jeremy Kyle Sunday Sports Show’.

In 2005, Jeremy moved his format to ITV with ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’, which would eventually be the most-watched daytime show on ITV. However, in February 2008, his show was criticized in the court after a man who found out during the recording of the show that he was not the father of his wife’s child and later pointed an air rifle at her.

In May 2019, the recording and broadcast of The Jeremy Kyle Show were completely suspended after a guest died shortly after making an appearance in an episode of the series. A review of the episode occurred before any resumption of the show’s transmission. On 15 May 2019, ITV confirmed that the series had already ceased production with immediate effect. Since then, it has been revealed that more guests had committed suicide after making appearances in this and another program hosted by Jeremy on Channel 5, ‘Britain’s Worst Husband’.

Similarly, he also started developing a new show for ITV three months after ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ had been canceled. ITV’s director of TV, Kevin Lygo revealed that a pilot episode was being made with Jeremy.

He writes a column for ‘Pick Me Up’, which is a women’s weekly magazine that is published by IPC. In 2009, he wrote his first book titled ‘I’m Only Being Honest’.
