Keb’ Mo’: Professional Career
Kevin began his musical career by playing steel drums and upright bass. After that, he began playing varieties of blues and other back up bands in the seventies and eighties. He started recording in the seventies along with Papa John Creach and Jefferson Airplane in an R&B Group.
Creach hired him when Moore was only 21 years of age. He made his appearance in four of Creach’s albums. His first-ever gold record was given for a song named “Git Fiddler” which was co-written by him with Papa John in the album named Red Octopus.
Keb gave a special concert in 2015 which was hosted by Barack Obama and the name of the concert was A Celebration of American Creativity. It was shot and filmed in the East Room of White House and was organized in the memory of Lyndon Johnson’s national Foundation on Arts the humanities Act.
He won his first Grammy award for his second album, Just Like You, released in 1996.
Moreover, he portrayed the character named Isaac in 1997 who is known as the angel of Music in the episode of “Inherit the Wind’ and for the second time in the television series named Touched by Angels.
In 2007, January, he performed at the Sundance Film Festival. He depicted the role of spirit Possum in the movie named Honeydripper and he provided supplementary music for Mike and Molly which starred Melissa McCarthy.
Furthermore, he appeared in the political tour “Vote for Change” along with Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne and they were the ones with whom he recorded a track from the album Just Like You.
