He was born Marshawn Terrell Lynch on April 22, 1986, in Oakland, California, USA to father Maurice Sapp and mother Delina Lynch who once held a 200-meter track record at Oakland Technical High School.
He has three siblings- older brothers Davonte Lynch, David Lynch, and older sister Marreesha Lynch.
He attended Oakland Technical High School and then attended the University of California where he majored in social welfare.
Professional Career
During his college time, he played for the California Golden Bears football team and played for the ream from the 2004 season to the 2006 season. Marshawn Lynch announced on January 2, 2007, that he would forgo his senior season to enter the 2007 NFL Draft.
NFL
Marshawn Lynch was selected in the 2007 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills in the first role with the 12th overall pick. He signed a six-year, $18.935 million with a $3 million signing bonus, and $10.285 million in total guarantee contract with the Bills. On November 4 game against Cincinnati Bengals.
Marshawn Lynch was traded on October 5, 2011to the Seattle Seahawks with a fourth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and a conditional pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
He played with the Seahawks until the 2015 season and on February 7, 2016, Lynch announced his retirement via Twitter.
In early April 2017, it was announced that he has agreed to join Oakland Raiders. On April 26, 2017, he was traded to Raiders with a two-year, $9 million contract, $2 million bonus for 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Marshawn Lynch returned with Seattle Seahawks during the final week of the 2019 regular season and was signed with the Seahawks on December 23, 2019.
