Monica had some controversies related to her book and Ph.D. thesis. It was said that she had plagiarized portions of her book named What the (Bleep) Just Happened? which she released in 2012 and the same was said to be the case with her dissertation which she had given for her Ph.D. She was chosen by Donald Trump administration for the post of deputy national security adviser in the National Security Council. But when reports related to her plagiarism made headlines, she withdrew from the new appointment.
