Peter Jackson was born on 31 October 1961 in Wellington. Her age is 57 years. He was brought up nearby the coastal town of Pukerua Bay and his birth name is Peter Robert Jackson.

His nationality New Zealander and his ethnicity are unknown. His parents were English immigrants and his father William Jackson worked as a wages clerk. Peter’s mother Joan Ruck worked as a factory worker.

From his childhood days, Peter began to have an interest in films and filmmaking. When he was 12 years old he watched the movie King Kong and wanted to make a remake of the movie later on which he did. Peter went to Kapiti College for his education but dropped out at the age of 16 to start his career which was inspired by his film hobby.

He started working on several movies like Meet The Feebles in 1989, Braindead in 1992, and Heavenly Creature which was a big success. Furthermore, he collaborated with Costa Botes for the movie Forgotten Silver.

Peter soon became a well known and reputed name in the movie-making industry and began to receive offers from Hollywood. Subsequently, he made his first big-budget film called The Frighteners in 1996. Soon enough Peter began work on his masterpiece Lord Of The Rings in 2000. The first part of the trilogy was called The Fellowship of the Ring was released in 2001, the second part was called The Two Towers. When was released in 2002 and the third and final part was called Return of the King which was released in 2003.

In 2005 he began working on his childhood dream of making a remake of King Kong. In 2009 he worked on the movie The Lovely Bones after which he became the producer of the movie The Adventures of Tintin. He announced that he will be working on a trilogy called The Hobbit in 2012 which will be using material from the Lord of The Rings trilogy.
