He was selected in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft out of Grand Canyon University, Arizona, the US in 1989.
Tim made his debut for the California Angels. He was one of the league’s elite power-hitting outfielders throughout the decade on August 21, 1992.
He missed the whole season recovering from surgery on his left knee and right shoulder in 2005.
Tim played his entire 14-year career for the Anaheim and Los Angeles Angels and he played his final Major League game before retiring on October 1, 2006. Presently, he is an Analyst in the Fox Sports West. He has a foundation named after himself called the Tim Salmon Foundation.
