His father’s name is Douglas Waring and his mother’s name is Gretchen Schoonmaker Waring.
His father was a mechanical-design project manager for research and development companies in New York State.
For education, he went to Ballston Spa Senior High School, Ballston Spa, NY for his schooling. Then for higher studies, he joined Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY.

He gave a start to his career in 1981. He first appeared in 1986 with a comedy TV series Nothing in Common. Todd was selected to play the character of David Basner instead of Tom Hank.
Todd has replaced Tom in the TV version of the movie Splash, Too in 1988. The show was about fantasy-comedy and Todd played the role of Allen Bauer. Todd Waring appeared in many TV series and films but in minor roles, some are The Stiller and Meara Show, Wings, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
